The Loudoun Fall Farm Tour kicks off October 18, giving Loudoun residents and visitors an opportunity to explore local produce suppliers, dairy farms, apiaries, and more. With 42 self-guided stops across the county, participants can choose their own journey through the scenic, autumn hills of western Loudoun.
Organized by the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, the farm tour takes place biannually during the third week of every May and October. This fall, some stops are returning favorites and others are fresh to the tour experience.
“Touring the farms and seeing the excitement firsthand every year, I can tell you this weekend is pure fun for everyone,” said Buddy Rizer, executive director of Loudoun Economic Development, in a press release. “From kids to grandparents, whether you’re a Loudoun resident or visiting from out of town, you’ll find a unique adventure on the 2025 Loudoun Fall Farm Tour.”
Choose Your Own Adventure
While participants can create their own journey through the weekend, the Department of Economic Development also curated categorized routes for those looking to narrow down which farms to visit. An animal-focused route includes farms that are home to goats, donkeys, alpacas, and more. The “Green Thumb” route features stops that grow flowers and greenery like Abernethy & Spencer Greenhouse and Blooming Hill Lavender Farm.

For seasonal family fun, explorers can opt to take the route with pumpkins, hayrides, and pony rides. Another route showcases award-winning wineries and breweries. And for those looking to learn something new, there’s the “They Grow ‘THAT’ in Loudoun?” route, with out-of-the-ordinary stops like the family-operated garlic farm Farrah’s Farm.
“This year’s tour highlights the incredible diversity of Loudoun’s farms,” said Chris Blosser, business development officer for Agriculture Services, in a press release. “Visitors can meet animals, taste local food and craft beverages, and experience everything from alpaca ranches to tea and garlic farms and vineyards all in one weekend.”
The tour tradition began in 1998 as the Fall Colors Tour, then took a more agricultural angle during harvest seasons when a spring event was added in 1996.
Throughout the tour weekend, the Department of Economic Development is also giving participants two opportunities to win Western Loudoun VIP Giveaway Packages. These packages include tastings, tours, and products from some of the favorite farms across the county. Check in using QR codes at tour stops, and vote for your favorite farm in an emailed poll for the chance to win.
