Nightmare on the Avenue Pop-Up Bar Returns to Del Ray

Find frights and cocktails when the Halloween pop-up bar returns to Del Ray this month.

By Michele Kettner September 9, 2025 at 12:43 pm

It’s time for a new era at the Del Ray Pop Up Bar. After closing the popular Taylor Swift-inspired pop-up at the beginning of August, the bar is preparing for spooky season with Nightmare on the Avenue, its Halloween pop-up theme.

The pop-up bar will transition from the colorful display of the Eras Tour to its dark and scary Halloween pop-up, which officially opens on Saturday, September 13.

The bar be full of skeletons, scary clowns, and gravestones, and guests will also get a menu to match. Those looking for a frightening bite can order a variety of appetizers and desserts, including Fried Bat Wings, Intestine Fries, and a Raw Meat Crispy.

And what’s a pop-up bar without cocktails? The extensive drinks list includes more than 10 different cocktails, including The Gatekeeper and Death Eater Negroni, along with wine and beer options. There are also a handful of mocktail options and a kids menu.

While the Del Ray Pop Up Bar is open to all ages, those 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Once the clock strikes 8 p.m., the pop-up will only admit those 21 and older.

Nightmare on the Avenue is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays, 5 p.m. to midnight on Fridays, 2 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays, and 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays. 2312 Mount Vernon Ave., Alexandria
