You don’t have to leave your kids at home when you explore one of these wineries and breweries. On your next day trip, visit these spots around Northern Virginia for family-friendly activities and beautiful scenery — and drinks for the adults.

Barrel Oak Winery & Brewery

This award-winning spot has no shortage of fun activities for adults and children alike. Barrel Oak Winery & Brewery sits on 78 acres of Piedmont countryside and offers a variety of environments to enjoy wines and brews, from tastings and cellar tours to private events. Lawn areas make a great play space, and children must be under adult supervision at all times. Adult-only areas include loft seating, fireplace seating, and tasting bars. Catch live music and food trucks on weekends, along with special events including Father’s Day at the Vineyard car showcase on June 15 and Oyster Fest on June 21. 3623 Grove Ln., Delaplane

Bear Chase Brewing Company

Bring the family to relax in adirondack chairs and enjoy breathtaking views at Bear Chase Brewing Company. Adults can sip seasonal beers and wines, and kids have plenty of room to play outside under supervision. Bingo, trivia nights, and live music are featured. The brewery offers non-alcoholic drinks including sodas, slushies, juice, coffee, and non-alcoholic beer. Don’t forget to check out the extensive food menu with pizzas, tacos, hot dogs, sandwiches, and various shareables. 33665 Bear Chase Ln., Bluemont

Creek’s Edge Winery

For a plethora of family-friendly events and activities, visit Creek’s Edge Winery. From live music and car shows to wine tasting opportunities, the winery offers various events throughout the year for children and adults. If you’re also looking for a meal, the food menu includes starters, charcuterie, flatbreads, brunch boards, and dessert. 41255 Annas Ln., Lovettsville

Lark Brewing Co.

Lark Brewing Co. has seven spots around the property to relax with family and friends. Children must be supervised at all times, and only the mezzanine and Lost Pavilion are 21+ areas. Enjoy live music, trivia nights, outdoor games, and dancing events. 24205 James Monroe Hwy., Aldie
