Popular Greek restaurant Our Mom Eugenia has nearly doubled its footprint in the Mosaic District with a major expansion that opened in February.
The Mosaic location (one of three NoVA locations) gained an additional 1,500 square feet of space, in addition to its original 1,900 square feet. The new area encompasses a private dining room and an outdoor patio.
“Our goal has always been to create a welcoming space where people can come together over our home-made Greek food,” said Eugenia Hobson, executive chef and co-owner, in a news release. “With this expansion, we are thrilled to offer a dedicated private dining room, perfect for intimate gatherings, milestone celebrations, and corporate events.”
The new room provides space for events such as “bridal showers, baptism dinners, rehearsal dinners, and business gatherings,” the news release said.
The room features geometric murals on the walls “inspired by the medieval castle village of Pyrgi on the island of Chios in eastern Greece,” the restaurant shared in an Instagram post.
Our Mom Eugenia first announced its expansion plans in October. It took over the empty space next door, previously occupied by The Italian Place.
The outdoor patio will open in April when the weather is warmer.
Our Mom Eugenia is known for its upscale Greek cuisine, with dishes such as moussaka, grilled whole fish, and housemade baklava.
In addition to the space in Mosaic, there are locations in Great Falls and Shirlington.
