Mulberry Lane Blends a Play Space with a Coworking Café in Del Ray

Parents can relax while kids stay entertained in this new space.

A new community space in Del Ray will serve parents and children alike. Mulberry Lane, which held its grand opening this week, offers a supervised play space for children ages 1 to 6, plus a café and coworking space.

“Mulberry Lane is more than a play café; it’s a community hub where families can find the balance they need between quality time and personal relaxation,” said Stella Borou, co-founder of Mulberry Lane. The new endeavor is in partnership with the Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which operates area restaurants such as Josephine Brasserie & Bar in Old Town and Planet Wine in Del Ray.

“We created Mulberry Lane as a space where families can spend quality time together, and parents can relax while their children explore and play,” said Borou.

The little ones take part in engaging activities and games, including “imaginative role-play and interactive storytelling,” while supervised by Mulberry Lane’s care team.

Meanwhile, there is café seating where parents can sit and work or socialize while the kids play.

Alternatively, the Dine & Care option allows parents to drop the kids off in the play space as they go enjoy a meal at Hi/Fi Tex Mex BBQ, The Evening Star, or The Front Porch at The Evening Star, which are located on the same block of Mount Vernon Avenue as Mulberry Lane.

There are plans to open a coworking space above the play area called Studio Del Ray soon. There will be work setups, a conference room, and private offices, plus a camera system that allows parents to watch their kids downstairs. Until the coworking space opens, you can join a waitlist for memberships that include that amenity.

Passes and memberships to Mulberry Lane are available now. Monthly memberships for childcare only start at around $299 per month for the first child. A combination membership for the coworking space and childcare will start around $499 per month. There are also daily passes starting around $129 for childcare and $199 for childcare and access to the coworking space.
