Virginia-based blues-rock musician Huntley, winner of The Voice season 24, is set to release his newest single, “Skyline Drive,” on October 29.
The song is an ode to Virginia’s landscapes, citing the state’s “rolling mountains, beautiful sky, and flowing waters,” as his inspirations. “After everything this past year, it felt right to pay homage to my home and remember where it all started,” Huntley shared on Instagram over the weekend. In the post, he is seen singing as he leans out a vehicle as it goes down Skyline Drive.
Though originally from Florida, Huntley has called Fredericksburg home since his teenage years, where he now lives with his two children, Stella and Michael.
Huntley’s rise took off on The Voice with his blind audition of “She Talks to Angels,” by The Black Crowes, turning the chairs of all four coaches. In a heartwarming moment, his daughter Stella joined him onstage to select his coach, ultimately choosing Niall Horan.
Under Horan’s mentorship, Huntley won the competition at age 33, securing a $100,000 cash prize and a recording contract. While he didn’t go with the Republic Records deal, reality TV site, The Things, reported he got a new manager.
Huntley performs live at the Adams Morgan Fall Porch Fest in DC on November 2.
