Not every Halloween event needs to be as scary as a haunted house. If you’ve got little ones or want to enjoy all of the festivities fall has to offer, take a short drive to Ijamsville, Maryland and visit Green Meadows Farm’s Trail of Jack-O-Lanterns.
The annual event welcomes guests each weekend to explore its trail, which is lined with carved pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. The Green Meadows Farm trail is open on weekends throughout October from 6 to 10 p.m., with the last entry at 8:30 p.m.
After you make your way through the trail, there are plenty of ways to keep the fun going at the farm. In addition to the trail, the farm will host trick-or-treating each night for kids 13 and under from 7 to 8 p.m. Guests can also stay cozy by the fire pits, enjoy a comedy show, and stop by the animal barn to greet the animals that call Green Meadows home.
Additional activities and goodies available for purchase include nighttime hayrides ($3), s’mores kits for two ($4), pumpkin flashlights ($3), and glow necklaces ($1).
Tickets are $13 when purchased in advance and $16 at the gate for guests ages 2 and older. Only credit cards will be accepted when purchasing tickets. Admission to the daytime petting farm is separate from the trail. 10102 Fingerboard Rd., Ijamsville, Maryland
