Middleburg to Host 1000 Miglia Warm-Up Auto Race this Month

Don’t miss your chance to see vintage and sports cars cruise through Loudoun County.

Car enthusiasts will gather in Middleburg this month to witness the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA, a prelude to Italy’s 1000 Miglia auto race. The Middleburg event takes place in and around the town, beginning October 23 and running until October 27.

This event is a warm-up to the 1000 Miglia race, which occurs in June 2025 across Italy. As race entries for the Italian race often sell out with a long waiting list, the U.S. event offers racers a chance to get a taste of the race closer to home. Plus, some eligible winners of the U.S. race will earn a chance to travel to Italy to participate in the Italian race.

“We are honored to, once again, host the 1000 Miglia Warm Up USA,” said Bridge Littleton, mayor of Middleburg. “This is such a unique event and such a perfect fit for Middleburg. We look forward to our continued partnership with the Italians who oversee the 1000 Miglia and are excited to bring this event back for the residents and many auto enthusiasts in the region.”

There will be up to 40 drivers and cars participating in the warmup race, in two classes. The 1000 Miglia Era Class will feature 1000 Miglia–eligible cars built between 1927 and 1957, plus sports and grand touring cars from the same era. The Post-1000 Miglia Era Class features sports, grand touring, and supercars built from 1958 until now. Crews will split into either veteran or novice status, based on whether they have participated in the 1000 Miglia or Ferrari Tribute 1000 Miglia races.

“We are delighted to return to the charming Town of Middleburg,” said Francesca Parolin, general manager of the 1000 Miglia. “The area provides such a beautiful setting for our drives and the Town and its residents are so welcoming. There is a similarity between the Middleburg region and some of the towns our event goes through in Italy.”

The racing runs from Wednesday to Saturday, covering over 500 miles. Events include organized time trials, cross-country drives, and racing at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia.

Friday’s festivities include a street festival with food, cars on display, and the awarding of the inaugural Middleburg Cup. There will be a medal ceremony at the Italian embassy on Saturday. Then, participants will cross the official finish line at North Madison Street in Middleburg. An awards dinner will take place at the Middleburg Town Hall.
