The Capital Food Fight is back this fall for its 20th year, presenting an evening of great food with some of the region’s best chefs to support DC Central Kitchen in its mission to combat hunger.

The event, billed as “DC’s baddest night of doing good,” is on November 7 at the Anthem in Washington, DC. Four chefs will battle it out in a culinary competition on stage.

Plus, more than 60 restaurants from around the region will offer samples for attendees to snack on.

“Just as DC Central Kitchen has always sought to fight hunger differently, Capital Food Fight has always been a fundamentally different type of event,” says Mike Curtin, CEO of DC Central Kitchen. “For 20 years, we have come together to celebrate our local restaurant community and the relentless, innovative work of DC Central Kitchen on the front lines of hunger and poverty.”

Over the past 20 years, the Capital Food Fight has raised more than $12 million to support DC Central Kitchen.

This year, the competing chefs include Yuan Tang of Falls Church’s Ellie Bird and DC’s Rooster & Owl; Jovana Urriola of the Colada Shop; Sarah Ravitz from the Shilling Canning Company; and Katarina Petonito of Eastern Point Collective, which is behind restaurants The Duck & The Peach, La Collina, The Wells, and Méli.

Some NoVA restaurants that will be there include Ometeo, King Street Oyster Bar, Clare & Don’s Beach Shack, and Wren.

Some celebrity chefs will appear as special guests, including José Andrés, Kwame Onwuachi, and Spike Mendelson.

Doors open to the event at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale now, starting at $350 per person.
