Christmas in July: Shopping and Festivals You Won’t Want to Miss 

The holiday will sneak up on you before you know it. Check out these holiday markets and vineyard events.

The Hallmark movie channel isn’t the only place to enjoy Christmas in July. Across Virginia and suburban Maryland, there are events where you can shop for gifts or just forget about the summer heat and get in the spirit of the holiday. 

Christmas in July Holiday Market

July 20, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.  

Get a head start on your holiday shopping with gifts from area artists and vendors at this holiday market. In the spirit of Christmas, school supplies for Georgetown South community children and canned goods for the House of Mercy food pantry will be collected. 9419 Battle St., Manassas 

Christmas in July at Backporch Vineyard

July 20, noon–5 p.m. 

This vineyard on the Northern Neck, roughly two hours from NoVA, will have festive market hosted by the Heart of Virginia Artisans. Shop and taste some wine. Darcy Dawn provides the afternoon’s music. 16595 Wilmont Rd., King George  

Christmas in July Ladies Night

July 25, 5–9 p.m. 

Round up your friends and have a girls’ night full of holiday cheer at the Winery at Sunshine Ridge Farm. Shop local vendors and enjoy drinks, food, and dancing. Tickets you a drink or flight and enter you into raffles. 15850 Sunshine Ridge Ln., Gainesville, $10 online, $15 at the door 

Christmas in July Festival

July 20, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Venture into the Shenandoah Valley to the fifth annual Christmas in July Festival in historic Front Royal. Held at the Front Royal Visitors Center, you’ll find handmade gifts from craft vendors and deals in Front Royal’s shops. Plus, you can get a free photo with Santa, grab food from DECA Tailgaters or Clay’s BBQ, listen to live music, and let the kids participate in arts and crafts. 414 E. Main St., Front Royal 

Christmas in July Craft Show

July 20–21, 9 a.m.–4 p.m. 

Beat the heat and take a little road trip to Maryland’s largest indoor Christmas in July craft show. Over 200 artists and crafters will have a variety of gift options for sale from handmade art and paintings to jewelry, pottery, paint making, woodworking and more! For the kids, there will be a moon bounce, petting zoo, face painting. Santa will be there both days. Howard County Fairgrounds: 2210 Fairgrounds Rd., West Friendship, Maryland; $5 for adults 

The Christmas Sleigh

Venture into a winter wonderland at this Middleburg shop where you will find authentic Steinback nutcrackers, as well as a wide variety of German decorations and ornaments. This shop keeps the spirit alive year-round. 5-A E. Washington St., Middleburg
