Former Hank’s Oyster Bar Manager Pleads Guilty to Embezzling $680K

The former general manager of Hank’s Oyster Bar will be sentenced in March for embezzling $680,000 from the Old Town Alexandria restaurant over the course of eight-and-a-half years.

Claude Ibrahim, 53, of Manassas, pleaded guilty to 17 counts, nine of felony embezzlement and eight of misdemeanor embezzlement, ALXNow reports.

An Alexandria grand jury indicted her on May 8, according to a news release from the Commonwealth’s Attorney Brian Porter.

Ibrahim set up direct deposit accounts for five fictitious Hank’s Oyster Bar employees and submitted biweekly timesheets for them, Porter said. The embezzlement started in June 2014 and ended when Ibrahim was fired.

Each felony count carries a maximum of 20 years in prison, while each misdemeanor carries a maximum of a year in jail. A judge will determine the sentence.
