On the Market: 1935 Arlington Tudor for $3.2M

The updated home is timeless and sophisticated, inside and out.

By Maggie Roth October 17, 2023 at 1:50 pm

In the Country Club Hills neighborhood of Arlington, just a stone’s throw from the Washington Golf and Country Club, 3201 N. Wakefield St. is a timelessly elegant home in the Tudor style. Its facade is full of architectural details like half-timber beams, a combination of stone and brick, and an arched front door.

The home, built in 1935, has been renovated to incorporate modern design throughout the space. It has four bedrooms, three full bathrooms, and two half bathrooms. The total square footage is 4,426 square feet.

The property is currently listed for $3.2 million.

The formal living room, just to the side of the foyer, has a wood-burning fireplace with a stone facade. The paneled windows bring in light and look out into the front lawn.

The kitchen has a subtle, sophisticated design with its soapstone counters and neutral backsplash. An arched window looks out to the garden. There are Viking commercial appliances and dual sinks, and a spacious island is equipped with built-ins to provide more storage and prep space.

With an open-concept layout, the kitchen flows into a family room with another gas fireplace, perfect for everyday gatherings and relaxing at home. In between the two rooms is a set of French doors that leads into an outdoor patio.

The primary suite is flooded with light, courtesy of the French doors to the garden and the arched window that sits above the bed. The high, angled ceilings give the space a hint of drama while still maintaining a calm environment.

The en suite bathroom has dual vanities with a bright blue tile surrounding the mirrors. The standing shower has a window overlooking the garden, protected by a stained class cover. There are three additional bedrooms on this level, one with an en suite bathroom, plus an additional full bathroom.

For a relaxing room that bridges the indoor and the outdoor, this sunroom is an ideal space to unwind. The sunroom is conditioned and has heated floors. It can be accessed through the living room, and doors open out onto a back patio.

This is one of two patios, which provide a great way to admire both the architectural details of the house’s exterior and the landscaping that surrounds it. The house sits on just under a half acre.
