Encanto-Inspired Interactive Experience is Coming to Tysons

Organizers say the shop-and-play retail experience will be the “ultimate holiday gifting destination.”

A new interactive family experience is opening in Tysons Corner Center just in time for holiday shopping. CAMP, a New York–based family entertainment company, will open a permanent retail space in the mall in December with an interactive experience inspired by Disney’s 2021 film Encanto.

The shop-and-retail space is “part toy store, part party venue, part immersive theater space,” according to a news release. It will open in a 10,730 square foot space in Tysons Corner Center beginning in the first week of December.

Tickets to the Encanto x CAMP experience are on sale online now. Ticket prices range from around $30 to $44.

About half of the space is the CAMP Canteen, a retail shopping space offering toys, clothing, books, accessories, and a station where kids can create their own slime.

But the real fun awaits behind a pivoting “magic door.” Visitors will be welcomed into a 5,000-square-foot interactive entertainment space, full of decorations and music, that will change seasonally.

In this opening show, visitors will join the Madrigal family from Encanto for an hour-long tour through Antonio’s rainforest and through Isabela’s flower-themed room. There will be counselor-led singalongs to encourage participants to sing songs like “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from the film.

“I can’t wait to see the smiles on faces when stepping into our newest CAMP location at the preeminent Tysons Corner,” said Jenica Myszkowski, CAMP’s co-CEO. “Our CAMP Canteen will be the ultimate holiday gifting destination this holiday season with the best selection of toys and books and so many playable moments for kids to enjoy while grown-ups shop!”

The venue will hold two party rooms for rent and a performance space for live events.

“We love the CAMP experience, and we know that our guests who come from all over the country and the world to spend time at Tysons Corner Center will adore this singular retail + theater + entertainment concept,” said Doug Healey, senior executive vice president of leasing at Macerich, the real estate company that owns Tysons Corner Center.

The Encanto x CAMP experience will be at Tysons for a limited time, then will move to a different CAMP location. Online you can book through January 28.

CAMP launched in 2018 and has eight retail spaces in Atlanta, Chicago, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Texas. Other experiences include Bluey in Los Angeles, The Little Mermaid in Atlanta, and Mickey & Friends in Dallas.
