Nationals Park to Transform Into 9-Hole Golf Course in October

For one weekend, the stadium will welcome golfers as the outfield is turned into putting greens.

With the baseball season over for the Nats, Nationals Park will say goodbye to the baseball field and hello to a golf course, at least for one weekend. The weekend of October 20–22, Stadiumlinks will take over the stadium to create a nine-hole golf course spread throughout the outfield.

The three-day event is giving a new spin to your typical golf weekend. Instead of playing on the greens, golfers will tee off from the upper deck. This event returns for its second year, with some new features: a new course design, multiple tee boxes in order to limit wait times, and access to warm-up bays for all players.

In addition to the nine-hole course, golfers have the option to add either the Chipping or Putting Challenge to their experience. In the chipping challenge, golfers will test their skills in 10 chipping shots, while the putting challenge allows five putts on the custom green. For each game, point values are decided based on the target size, distance, slopes, or breaks. The top performers for each challenge will be awarded a prize. Admission to each challenge costs $15.

Tickets are now on sale for the limited-time event. Tickets range from $84–$89 per player. Tee times can be booked for either two, four, six, or eight players. Participants can either bring their own clubs or use the complimentary set of standard right-handed irons available at each tee.

Golfers can also add on the VIP package for $115. The special package includes chef-prepared food and drinks in VIP lounge, private access to the VIP driving range, complimentary tickets to the Chipping Challenge and the Putting Challenge, and a commemorative sleeve of golf balls.

Tee times run from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. each day. The rain or shine event should take players between 60 and 90 minutes to complete. It is recommended that groups arrive at least 45 minutes before tee time.
