They Tried to Make a $21K Purchase But Ended Up Behind Bars

Fairfax County police found the three people in possession of $15,000 in fraudulently purchased merchandise, but that wasn’t everything.

By Colleen Kelleher September 15, 2023 at 5:13 pm

Two men and a woman from New York have been arrested after trying to make a $21,000 purchase with a stolen credit card at the Louis Vuitton store in Tysons on Thursday.

Fairfax County police say the store in Tysons Galleria called them, and officers started watching the two men who came out of the store and got into a rental car the woman was in.

When police stopped the trio, they found the following: “36 fictitious driver’s licenses, 32 stolen credit cards, a USPS mail carrier uniform, a USPS arrow key, stolen articles of mail, and other evidence of theft and fraud,” according to a news release.

The police recovered about $15,000 in fraudulently purchased merchandise.

They charged Jamine Decambra, 28, of Brooklyn, New York, with five counts of credit card theft, two counts of credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, two counts of identity theft, resisting arrest, and five counts of being in possession of fictitious driver’s licenses. A suspect with the same name was arrested back in October 2019 on similar charges in Somerville, New York.

Darnel Eric Davis, 33, of Astoria, New York, faces the following charges: five counts of credit card theft, credit card fraud, conspiracy to commit credit card fraud, and eight counts of being in possession of fictitious driver’s licenses.

Marcia Jenelle Lewis, 37, of Jamaica, New York, is charged with eight counts of credit card theft, eight counts of being in possession of fictitious driver’s licenses, and four counts of identity fraud.

All three are being held without bond at the county detention center.
