Soccer fans, don your jerseys and get ready to cheer your hearts out: The U.S. Women’s National Team will head to Australia and New Zealand this month to take on the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
The USWNT will first play Vietnam at 9 p.m. on July 21, followed by the Netherlands at 9 p.m. on July 26, then Portugal at 3 a.m. on August 1 (blame the 16-hour time difference between here and New Zealand for that early morning game.) If the team progresses to the next round, opponents and schedules will be announced later.
In honor of the occasion, bars in DC and NoVA will host watch parties so fans can root for their favorite team alongside fellow spectators — for the matches that happen during waking hours, at least. Check out one of these five events to show your support for Team USA.

At Port City Brewing, the opening game will be shown with sound in the indoor beer garden, as well as on TVs in the tasting room. District Sports will host watch parties for both the USA vs. Vietnam and the USA vs. Netherlands games. The first will be at Wunder Garten, an outdoor beer garden, and the second will be at Franklin Hall beer hall. The $20 entrance fee gets you access to District Sports’ section and a beer from Atlas Brew Works. Proceeds benefit DC Scores, a nonprofit that provides free afterschool programs. Make a stop at Metrobar, an outdoor bar at the Rhode Island Avenue Metro station in DC, to keep an eye on the score. It’ll be playing the U.S. vs. Vietnam game with sound, the U.S. vs. Netherlands game without sound, then subsequent games as the tournament progresses.
