Get your running shoes on. The third annual Run the Greenway comes back on Saturday, May 6 at a new location.
There will be a 10K, a 5K, and 1-mile Kids Fun Run on the Dulles Greenway, starting at Loudoun Station.
“Thanks to our partnership with Comstock and Loudoun Station, Run The Greenway 2023 will be more accessible to runners across the Washington, DC metro region,” said Terry Hoffman, Dulles Greenway public and customer relations manager.
The 5K and 10K start at 8 a.m. The cost is $50 for the 5K and $65 for the 10K. It’s $15 for the fun run, and it starts at 10 a.m. And, there’s a virtual option that costs $35. If you do register, you will need to pick up your race packet on May 5.
The fun, family event on the 14-mile toll road raises money for 18 nonprofits.
Last year, more than 1,700 runners participated and more than $376,000 was raised.
For those who are not runners but who want to donate, Run the Greenway has an option for that. So far, it’s raised more than $53,500 from 457 donors.
After the race, there will be face painting, food trucks, and music by Special Occasions.
