Looking a fresh spot to get a family holiday photo this year? Head on over to Neabsco Regional Park for the park’s first “Rocking Around the Boardwalk” event.
The light display will be open to the public on Friday through Sunday with the exception of December 23-25. Visitors can take a stroll through the light show from 5:30-9 p.m.
“Handcrafted light displays located throughout Neabsco Regional Park create a magical path for visitors to walk through leading to the Neabsco Creek Boardwalk,” says Lani Poblete, public relations manager with the Prince William County Government Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism. “There, they can view even more lights along with our unique holiday tree display located along the boardwalk path.”
The star light display as you enter the .75-mile boardwalk makes for a great photo opportunity, as well as the fluorescent LOVE sign.
“This is the first year we’re putting on this event and we’re so happy to be able to offer this free to visitors,” Poblete says.
If you’re planning a visit, keep in mind that parking at the boardwalk is limited. Overflow parking is available at Rippon Lodge, Porter Elementary School, and Rippon Middle School with shuttles to the park.
“The Neabsco Creek Boardwalk is a beautiful place to visit any time of year but to see it lit up with all the holiday lights is really special,” says Poblete.
The final day of the event will be Friday, December 30. 15125 Blackburn Rd., Woodbridge
