From jade rollers and exfoliators to bath bombs and sheet masks, indulging yourself in an at-home self-care routine can be the perfect way to unwind after a long day. But regardless of how hard we try to relax at home, nothing can beat going to get a professional massage. And luckily for Northern Virginia, our selection of reliable and relaxing spas is an extensive one.

Salamander Resort & Spa

There’s no doubt that some of the best spas are found at some of the best hotels. A five-star hotel nestled in dreamy Middleburg, the Salamander Resort & Spa clearly understands the importance of taking time for yourself to relax and recuperate. You’ll relieve all of you stress with one of their personalized massages; and if you want something extra, you can add treatments like a seasonal scrub or a revitalizing foot massage. 500 N. Pendleton St., Middleburg

The Ritz Carlton Spa

While The Ritz Carlton may be known for its extravagant rooms and elegant atmosphere, its spa deserves just as much recognition. If you’re all shopped-out after a day at Tysons Corner, try the A Moment of Serenity massage, a 60-minute soothing aromatherapy massage using a blend of essential oils to melt away tension. And if you have a few minutes more to spare, their Hot Stone Massage uses warm volcanic stones to intensely soothe tired and aching muscles. 1700 Tysons Blvd., McLean

Moon Lake Spa

If you’re new to the whole massage game and don’t know where to start, Moon Lake Spa will soon become your best friend. Try their Moon Lake Signature Massage, a combination of Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage. (It’s the spa’s most-recommended service). If you don’t have hours to spare but want to experience a quick massage session, try the Express Massage, a 30-minute neck, back, and shoulder massage. 503 Maple Ave. W., Vienna

Spa Minerale at Lansdowne Resort

Tucked away in an often-overlooked corner of Leesburg rests the peaceful Lansdowne Resort, where you can relax and recharge at the Spa Minerale. While classic massages like deep tissue and hot stone massages are offered, this spa stands out for it numerous massage enhancement options. For less than $30, you can add a Yin Tang Scalp Massage, a Hand & Foot Treatment, or a Bamboo Circulation to create a personalized massage best suited for you. 44050 Woodridge Pkwy., Leesburg

Lanna Oriental Spa

There’s a fine line between wanting and needing a massage. If you need a massage to relieve tension in your body, head on over to Lanna Oriental Spa. For the days when you just can’t get rid of that back pain, try the Lanna Touch Back Massage. Or if your headaches are getting worse and worse, try the Lanna Head Release. Regardless of the reason, this quaint spa has something for you. 2122 Gallows Rd., Ste. D, Vienna

Collage Spa

With locations in both historic downtown Fredericksburg and Culpeper, Collage Spa provides just about any form of massage you could possibly imagine.
