NoVA Landmarks That Look Even More Amazing Amid the Changing Leaves

Make sure to stop by these beautiful spots around NoVA for your next fall walk, photoshoot, or picnic.

With the leaves changing colors and falling around the region, we only have a short timeframe to get in all of our leaf excursions before another change in the season. Whether you are looking to take colorful fall photos or are looking to take in the sites, these NoVA landmarks will offer stunning views this season.

George Washington’s Mount Vernon

The former home of the first president offers historic views this fall. Located along the Potomac River, the estate is surrounded by trees in transition. As you explore the grounds, visit one of the four gardens and take in the beautiful autumn blooms. 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy., Mount Vernon

Manassas National Battlefield Park

Host to the First Battle of Manassas and Second Battle of Manassas, trek the historic battlefield turned park this autumn. With 40 miles of trails scattered throughout 5,100 acres of land, get lost in the tree tunnels for an unforgettable fall adventure. 6511 Sudley Rd., Manassas

Meadowlark Botanical Garden

Grab your camera to adventure through the 95-acre park to witness all of autumn’s beauty. Full of trees, flowers, and lakes, the garden is the perfect place to catch the local flora and fauna this fall. 9750 Meadowlark Gardens Ct., Vienna

Oatlands Historic House & Gardens

If you’re looking to squeeze in a family photoshoot or enjoy a picnic on a gorgeous autumn day, consider heading to Leesburg’s Oatlands Historic House. The former plantation includes a 4.5-acre garden that features a reflecting pool, rose garden, and plenty of autumn leaves. Before heading to the estate, make sure to pick up either the grounds and trails pass or professional photography pass to gain access to the gardens. 20850 Oatlands Plantation Ln., Leesburg

Old Town Alexandria Waterfront

While you spend a weekend shopping in Old Town Alexandria, make sure to enjoy the views along the waterfront walk. With a dozen parks along the Potomac River in Alexandria, and across the way in DC, you’ll be surrounded with beautiful hues of yellows, oranges, and reds. 1 Prince St., Alexandria
