Fill your summer meals with fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat from our local farms.

Updated May 3, 2022. With summer right around the corner, your fridge is soon to be full of delicious greens as fresh produce comes back into season. Instead of shopping at the grocery store, secure your veggies, eggs, and fruits for the rest of the year and support local farmers by joining a CSA program. Here are six programs that are still accepting memberships.

A Farm Less Ordinary

This CSA program in Purcellville employs workers with developmental and intellectual disabilities. The 12-week summer program provides a variety of vegetables throughout the season, including snap peas, carrots, tomatoes, eggplant, and peppers. Purcellville; $370 for 12 weeks

Bull Run Mountain Farm

With multiple pick-up locations around NoVA, everyone has access to these fresh veggies. From June to October, members will receive weekly boxes full of eight different vegetables, including everything from arugula to tomatoes, with fruit and egg shares available as an add-on. 4362 Highpoint Ln., The Plains;  $540-$1,520

Day Spring Farm

If you are looking to make your entire meal from local goods, you may want to consider this CSA box. Day Spring Farm not only offers a veggie share, but also a meat and raw milk share. With half and full shares, along with add-ons like eggs, herbs, and soap, you’re sure to find something that fits your family’s needs. Middleburg; $30-$1,675

Fredericksburg Area CSA Project

The more the merrier with this program. With eight different farms and orchards joining forces, you’ll have access to the best produce the region has to offer. Throughout the summer, you boxes will include broccoli, garlic, melons, corn, and some extra surprise items. $26.75-$43.75 per week

Great Country Farms

This customizable CSA provides 20 weeks of fresh produce from June through October. With three club member options available (fan, market, and mega), members can select the plan that best fits their lifestyle. Depending on your membership, you will also receive unlimited access to the farm, a discount on additional alcohol purchases, and access to the pick-your-own fields throughout the season. 34345 Snickersville Turnpike, Bluemont; $40-$125 per month

Whitehall Farms

Get all of your cooking needs at this Clifton farm. When you become a member, you can choose among the egg, single-serve veggie, and couple’s-choice veggie boxes that run from 20 to 40 weeks. 12523 Popes Head Rd., Clifton; $5.50-$35 per week
