If you feel that your New Year’s resolution fitness goals just weren’t lofty enough of an ambition for 2021, there is an exciting new option in our area.
BASH Boxing, the fitness concept that uses boxing and specialized coaching to deliver a full-body experience with two current locations in Arlington, recently announced a growth strategy to expand its network of nationwide studios–including in the Metro DC area. According to CEO and co-founder Alexandra Trakas, as soon as you walk into a BASH Boxing studio you see that the overall experience is science- and community-driven.
“Our job is to help you achieve all your specific physical goals, while also providing a safe space for you to grow into your most confident self,” she says. “We are here to learn your story: from our studio staff to our talented coaches, your end-to-end experience is meant to show you that you’re our priority and your success and safety is our guiding light.”
BASH Boxing studios have a unique dual-set up: boxing intervals and joint-safe Aqua Punching Bags on one side of the room and fitness equipment for a high-energy functional workout on the other. The concept’s three daily focuses–Endurance, Strength and Power–assure that no two workouts are the same. “Our workout is purposeful, specific and engineered to be your primary or complementary source of fitness,” Trakas says.
A single class costs $29, and you can purchase class packs including the BASH Starter Pack (5 Classes/$99), 10 pack ($239), 20 pack ($399) and 30 pack ($519). Membership options are Lightweight (4 classes per month for $89), Contender (8 classes per month for $129) and Champion (unlimited classes per month for $189)
For the Covid-era, studios are operating at a limited capacity, ensuring well more than 10 feet of social distance for each boxer. Time between classes has been increased to ensure full cleaning and disinfection, and sharing of equipment and stations has been eliminated. A new virtual offering called BASH At-Home features the same science-backed program and your favorite coaches wherever you are, and can be modified for whatever fitness equipment you have–including your own bodyweight; these classes cost $15/each, $69 or a 5-class pack, $119 for a 10-class pack and unlimited membership for $169.
If you are looking for a new career venture, Trakas says BASH Boxing is looking for the right set of franchisees who share the passion of the founders. “They should be able to match our energy, align with our objectives and inspire others around them,” she says. “Our team is dedicated to attracting the highest potential franchisees, providing them with industry-best support and training, and continuing to build the BASH brand nationwide.” The company should be registered in the state of Virginia and be able to begin speaking with franchisee candidates in the next couple of weeks, and hopes to open their first set of franchises in early 2022.
