Get ready for your Thanksgiving feast with these turkey trots

These four themed-races offer in-person and virtual options.

By Michele Kettner November 2, 2020 at 6:05 am

These four races will get you ready for the Thanksgiving feast that comes after.

18th Annual Freeze Your Gizzard 5K

Pack on the layers for the weeklong Freeze Your Gizzard 5K. Choose your course and get in a little exercise before turkey day. Proceeds from the event will go toward Loudoun Hunger Relief. // Nov. 21-28; $25 per runner, $80 for family of four;

2020 Revenge of the Bird Virtual 5K Turkey Trot

Take some time out of the month to run your traditional turkey trot at home. All participants will receive a finisher medal, official race bib and Revenge of the Bird running buff. // Nov. 1-Dec. 12;  $35-$50

Arlington Turkey Trot

The 15th annual Arlington Turkey Trot is going virtual. Instead of running the race on Thanksgiving morning, participants will run their 5K race the week/weekend of Thanksgiving. // Nov. 25-Dec. 1;  $20-$40

Vienna Turkey Trot

Join the Vienna Turkey Trot to run a 10K, 5K or fun run during Thanksgiving week. Whether you want to participate from the comfort of your treadmill or take your pup along for the fun, this race has a distance for everyone. Runners who register before Nov. 5 will be guaranteed a winter hat.  // Nov. 22-28; $25
