Usually the fall season is packed full of fun seasonal activities for both kids and adults. While the pandemic has canceled some annual events, there are still a few fall festivals taking place this month. Whether you want to celebrate the coming of fall with a few drinks or take the family to the pumpkin patch, here are five fall festivals coming to the region.
Colonial Market & Fair
Sept. 19-20, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
Travel back to the 18th century with a quick trip to George Washington’s Mount Vernon. This marketplace experience will allow visitors to browse the market full of colonial foods and wares, listen to colonial era music and watch live artisan demonstrations. Culpeper Harvest Days 2020
Sept. 19 & 20, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
Enjoy everything the farms of Culpeper County have to offer at the 23rd annual Culpeper Harvest Days farm tour. This self-guided driving tour includes 15 local farms and allows participants to get hands-on experience in a variety of farm tasks and activities. RhinO’fest 2020
Sept. 19 & 20, noon-6 p.m.
Celebrate the start of Okoberfest with Lost Rhino Brewing. The brewery is going on with its annual festival with safety and social distancing regulations in place. 2020 Fairfax County Brewfest
Sept. 26, noon-6 p.m.
Support your favorite local breweries at the annual Fairfax County Brewfest. With seven breweries participating, including Caboose Brewing, Mustang Sally Brewing and Lake Anne Brew House, spend the afternoon sampling your favorite drinks as you visit multiple location. // Multiple locations
Fall Pumpkin Harvest Festival
Sept. 28-Oct. 31, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
Get a jump on Halloween and celebrate the fall season at Great Country Farms’ Harvest Festival. Enjoy a weekend with the family as you pick the perfect pumpkin, munch on roasted marshmallows and get lost in the corn maze.
