The Dupont Circle hotel in Washington, DC is currently getting a makeover, and is getting itself ready to show off to guests come Wednesday, Sept. 9. Following a large-scale, full renovation, guests will once again be able to stay at the hotel, perfect for a staycation for weary Northern Virginians handling the daily stressors of the pandemic.

The renovation includes a new bar and restaurant designed by Martin Brudnizki, a new lobby and penthouse suite designed by Clodagh and updated rooms and suites throughout the hotel as well.

The new Penthouse Suite by Clodagh comes in two variations, with one or two bedrooms. When expanded into two bedrooms, the suite is one of the largest in Washington, DC, totaling in at 1,980 square feet. The suite also features a heated outdoor terrace, which overlooks Dupont Circle and has views of the Washington Monument.

Renting out the penthouse floor, with a total of 12 bedrooms and a private elevator, is also an available option for guests upon the reopening.

The hotel’s renovation features midcentury aesthetic, a nod to the building’s 1950s beginnings, with bold colors and varying textures in the bar and The Pembroke, the hotel’s restaurant.

Holistic touches are also involved in the design, with live-edge wood and handwoven rugs in the penthouse suite and the new lobby. All guest rooms in the hotel have a a redesign that echos the new spaces as well, with pops of color, geometric headboards and plush, new robes in the bathroom. Several rooms have been reconfigured too, doubling the number of suites in the hotel.
