Seven new cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in Prince William County, bringing the county’s total to 11. Other new cases included three in Arlington (17 in total) and two in Alexandria and Fairfax (four total and 16 total, respectively). (Inside NoVA)

There is at least one confirmed case of COVID-19 at an assisted living center in Falls Church. Kensington Senior Living Facility has reported seven other residents who were also symptomatic but all tested negative for the coronavirus. (Falls Church News-Press)

WMATA has closed the Smithsonian and Arlington National Cemetery Metro stations until further notice, announced March 19. Metro could be expected to announce more service cuts today, as the organization seeks to prevent tourists from using public transportation for non-essential trips and visiting the cherry blossoms in peak bloom this weekend. Inova Alexandria Hospital has an “adequate supply” of COVID-19 tests for those looking to get tested and showing adequate symptoms of the virus. On Wednesday, the hospital set up its tented temporary auxiliary screening unit outside the emergency room entrance. The tent has a 10-person capacity. (ALXNow)

Thirty-two new cases were reported in Washington, DC, on March 19, bringing the total to 71 cases. Of those, a third D.C. Fire and EMS member has tested positive for the virus. (WTOP)

On March 20, Gov. Ralph Northam moved to extend the tax deadline to Friday, May 1 for all individuals and businesses. He also temporarily eliminated all Medicare copays for the time being. Medicaid will extend prescription refills to 90 days, enhance telehealth options and waive some pre-approval requirements, as well as cover the cost of testing for COVID-19. (The Center Square)
