The World’s Largest Golf Outing to be held at 9 NoVA locations this year

The annual event raises funds for veterans and is the largest charitable golf event held on one day.

This summer, tee it up for a good cause. The World’s Largest Golf Outing, benefiting the Fisher House Foundation is the largest charitable golf event held on one day, with the funds raised going toward military families and veterans across the country.

Fisher House Foundation is best known for 82 comfort homes where military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.

This year’s event will be held on Aug. 5, and golfers who want to participate in Northern Virginia have nine locations to choose from, including Brambleton Golf Course; Pohick Bay Golf Course; Algonkian Golf Course; Broad Run Golf & Practice Facility; 1757 Golf Club; Prince William Golf Course; Forest Greens Golf Club; Lake Ridge Golf Course; and Reston National Golf Course.

The tournament is open to all skill levels, ages 13 and older. At least two members of a foursome team or one member of a twosome team must be over 18 years old. The cost for participating in WLGO depends on the golf course you are participating at, as all courses set their own prices.

Prizes include a Bay Hill and Golf Channel trip; a trip to the Titleist Headquarters or the Titleist Performance Institute; and a Volvik Staff Kit.
