The White House will once again host its garden tours this fall. Tours will take place on October 17 from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and October 18 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The free event allows visitors to explore parts of the White House grounds not typically open to the public.
Visitors can explore the South Lawn, Rose Garden, and White House Kitchen Garden during the self-guided tour. The grounds also include the White House Beehive, a helipad, and trees planted by former presidents and first ladies.
Free, timed tickets are required for all visitors participating in the garden tours. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 8:30 a.m. each day at a tent outside the White House Visitor Center.
You can access a list of prohibited items on the National Park Service’s site.
In the event of inclement weather, the event may be canceled. Visitors can call a 24-hour information line at 202 456-7040 to check on the status of the event.
