Alexandria is known for its history and old-school beauty, yet what many people don’t know is that the city also serves as a welcoming and inclusive destination for the LGBTQ community. Starting June 1, the neighborhood is gathering together to recognize people of all identities with these special events.
Priday Night at Port City Brewing Company
June 1, Noon-11 p.m.
Start Pride Month right with a celebration of Alexandria’s diverse community, hosted by the Alexandria-Arlington Gay and Lesbian Alliance (AGLA) at Port City Brewing Company. Pride at The Dog Park

You don’t have to be the only one decked out in colors of the rainbow this month. ALX Pride 2019 Mix & Mingle

In conjunction with DC’s Capital Pride Celebration, the Torpedo Factory Art Center is hosting a special event in order for members of the local LGBTQ community to get to know one another. Hurricane Season Reading at Hooray for Books

Show Your Pride at the Portside in Old Town Summer Festival

Pride Photo Op at Mirror Mirror

This summer and fall, the Alexandria waterfront features a new public art installation that is the perfect photo op background. The new rainbow-hued landmark, known as Mirror Mirror, is a 25-foot long, eight-foot tall piece of art that serves as an interactive light show for all to enjoy. // Waterfront Park: 1 King St., Alexandria; free
Pride LGBTQ Sitewide Discount at Sand and Steel Fitness

Throughout the month of June, members of the LGBTQ community will receive a discounted price on Sand and Steel Fitness’ starter pack.
