Mosaic District launches inaugural event with the National Cherry Blossom Festival

Art Blooms at Mosaic will be an immersive and participatory art event in Fairfax. Here’s the lineup.

Live life in pink and celebrate the region’s blooming cherry blossoms at Art Blooms at Mosaic, an inaugural event by URBNmarket and the Mosaic District, in partnership with the National Cherry Blossom Festival.

The event, being held April 6 to 7, will feature live music, craft vendors, a farmers market, a beer garden, artwork and more. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, there will be a complimentary shuttle service from the Dunn Loring Metro Station.

Here’s the full lineup and schedule for Art Blooms at Mosaic:

Saturday, April 6

11 a.m.: FRESHFARM farmers market opens on District Avenue and Penny Lane

11 a.m.: URBNmarket’s handmade and vintage craft fair opens on District Avenue and Strawberry Lane

11 a.m.: Community yoga class held by Spark Yoga in Strawberry Park

Noon: Guitarist Kevin Olson performs

12:30 p.m.: Create-your-own cherry blossom vase with Muse Paintbar workshop in the Target lobby

1-4 p.m.: Make-your-own cherry blossom artwork workshop with Torpedo Factory artists in Strawberry Park

1:15 p.m.: Frog Pond Pickers perform bluegrass, country and pop hits from the 1960s to today

2:30 p.m.: The Sprinting Turtles sing rock and roll hits from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s.

3:45 p.m.: Guitarist Brent Peterson takes the stage

5 p.m.: District Acaeplla, an all-female vocal group from DC, wraps up the evening

Sunday, April 7

9:30 a.m.: FRESHFARM farmers market opens on District Avenue and Penny Lane

11 a.m.: A dedication ceremony of the cherry trees by Diane Mayhew, director of the National Cherry Blossom Festival

11 a.m.: Caboose Commons’  beer garden opens

11 a.m.: URBNMarket’s craft fair opens on District Avenue and Strawberry Lane

11:45 a.m.: Nora Maccoby and Liliane Bloom host a digital art presentation in Strawberry Park

12:30 p.m.: Create-your-own cherry blossom vase workshop with Muse Paintbar in the Target lobby

12:30 p.m.: Calista Garcis Band perform blues, folk, and rock music from the 1970s

2 p.m.: Tiny Dancers, a program for children ages 2 to 12, dance for guests

2:45 p.m.: Jeff from Accounting hits the stage with rock, pop, soul and alternative songs from multiple decades

3:30 p.m.: Another cherry blossom vase workshop held at Target

4 p.m.: Chris Bruno performs with his guitar

5:30 p.m.: The weekend ends with Art Blossoms, a spring-inspired art show and reception at Torpedo Art Gallery
