National Park Service makes plans for Claude Moore Colonial Farm; How will the Metro handle closures of Blue/Yellow lines?

On Thursday, the National Park Service announced it would develop plans for federal land on the old Claude Moore Colonial Farm land in McLean. The farm closed last year after a years-long dispute with park officials. (The Washington Post)

Virginia will spend $3.6 million to let buses run past traffic on the Capital beltway, discount Amtrak trips and to support expanded bus and water taxi service during this summer’s months-long Metro shutdown of six Blue Line and Yellow Line stations. (WTOP)

Prince William County School Board unanimously voted to approve its $1.5 billion budget for the fiscal year 2020, which starts July 1. It would more than double the annual pay for school board members, if approved by the Board of County Supervisors. (InsideNoVA)

The George Washington Parkway is shut down this morning, between the Capital Beltway and Virginia Route 123 after the roadway was compromised due to the heavy rains the region experienced Thursday night. (WTOP)
