Metro will increase service on the Yellow and Red lines starting next year, doubling the numbers of trains at a dozen stations, in hopes of boosting ridership. The service changes are a part of the 2020 budget for the Metro, and the proposal would extend the Yellow Line to Greenbelt, and run all red Line trains between Shady Grove and Glenmont (eliminating turnbacks at Silver Spring). Gov. Ralph Northam said Thursday that Virginia’s 40 state mental health centers are now all offering walk-in mental health evaluations. A person in need of an assessment can now get one at the Community Service Boards without an appointment, instead of waiting days or weeks for a scheduled appointment. (WTOP)
The Loudoun County School Board delayed a vote on Tuesday to confirm members of the recently created Ad Hoc Committee on Equity, citing that they did not want to finalize the committee until the names of all prospects were put before them. (Loudoun Times-Mirror)
