Salute our troops at any of these 10 events this weekend

Veterans Day is this Sunday, and there will be plenty of ways to honor the men and women who have served our country throughout the weekend.

Veterans Day Fort Tours
Saturday, 10 a.m. & 2 p.m.
Two 90-minute tours will be conducted by a Union veteran interpreter, sharing the life of soldiers who participated in the defense of Washington. // Fort Ward Museum & Historic Site: 4301 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria; Free

Marine Corps Birthday Cake Cutting Ceremony
Saturday, noon-12:30 p.m.
The Marine Corps is turning 243, come celebrate during their traditional cake cutting ceremony. Cake will be served to everyone. // National Museum of the Marine Corps: 18900 Jefferson Davis Highway, Triangle; Free

Celebrating Veterans and the Arts
Saturday, 4 p.m.
Take part in an interactive afternoon of experiences for veterans, service members, their families, military caregivers and the community. // Hylton Performing Arts Center: 10900 University Blvd., Manassas; Free

The Chad Dukes Veterans Day Jamboree
Saturday, 5 p.m.
Chad Dukes of 106.7 the Fan will be the emcee for this celebration of our veterans that will feature musical performances from Town Mountain, Sunny Ledfurd, Zephaniah Ohora and Justin Wells. All ticket sales are going to Stop Solider Suicide. // Tally Ho Theater: 19 W. Market St., Leesburg; $20-$30

Flatbeds and Tailfins Present: August
Saturday, 7 p.m.
This special concert, featuring rock and rollers August, pays special tribute to our veterans. // Flatbeds and Tailfins: 300 E. Main St., Remington; $15 (general admission), $10 (veterans)

“Pershing’s Own” Veterans Day Concert
Saturday, 7:30 p.m.
Col. Andrew J. Esch will conduct the U.S. Army Band in a performance that will honor veterans across the nation. // Rachel M. Schlesinger Concert Hall and Arts Center: 4915 E. Campus Drive, Alexandria; Free

Mount Vernon Salutes Veterans
Sunday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.
All active duty, former or retired military personnel will receive free admission to the home of George Washington. There will also be a concerts by the Harmony Heritage Singers and the United States Air Force Strings Orchestra. // George Washington’s Mount Vernon: 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway, Mount Vernon

Arlington National Cemetery
Sunday, 11 a.m.
Pay a special tribute to the soldiers that paid the ultimate sacrifice. Events will include a wreath-laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a parade of colors and remarks by government and military officials. // Arlington National Cemetery: Arlington; Free

Heroes & Hops Fest
Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
Raise a beer to the veterans that have proudly served our country. Entry fee includes one beer and barbecue, with all proceeds going to Hero’s Bridge to support veterans. // Powers Farm & Brewery: 9269 Redemption Way, Midland; $5-$25

Art of Armistice
Through Dec. 2
Celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the end of World War I by viewing a group exhibition that explores the after effects of war. Also in celebration of the Torpedo Factory’s 100th anniversary, a reception will take place on Friday, Nov. 9. // Target Gallery: 105 N. Union St., Alexandria; Free
