It’s been a pretty good week for the Inn at Little Washington. After earning the highest rating of three stars in the 2019 Washington, D.C., Michelin Guide last week, today brought news that the restaurant, and it’s owners Patrick O’Connell and Reinhardt Lynch, will be the subject of a sitcom in development at NBC by The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons.

Parsons is creating the project, titled The Inn Crowd, with his husband Todd Spiewak through their That’s Wonderful Productions company and Young & Hungry creator David Holden, all of which will serve as executive producers. The show will be written by Holden and based off the 1999 Pulitzer-Prize winning New Yorker article from Tony Horwitz that focused on O’Connell and Lynch, a gay couple that caused a stir in a small town by opening a very successful inn.

No timetable has been announced for when the show may premiere.

Parsons is best known for his role as Sheldon Cooper on The Big Bang Theory, winning multiple Emmy Awards for Best Actor in a Comedy during its run. The Big Bang Theory is beginning its 12th and final season on Monday, Sept. 24.
