Ex-boyfriend charged with murdering 16-year-old Jholie Moussa; Virginia State Police to increase enforcement, focusing on seat belts

Jholie Moussa, a 16-year-old Fairfax County resident, went missing in January. Two weeks later her body was found, and Thursday her ex-boyfriend, an 18-year-old, was charged with her death, believed to be caused by blunt force trauma and smothering.

Expect increased enforcement from Virginia State Police this weekend, and be sure to buckle up as seat belts will be a focus. During 2017’s Labor Day weekend, there were five traffic-related deaths and none of the individuals were wearing their seat belt.

Though James Alex Field Jr.’s defense attorney requested that his trial be moved to a different location, Charlottesville Circuit Judge Richard E. Moore believes that he will be able to find an impartial jury. Field has been charged with killing Heather Heyer, who was a counter protester of the Unite the Right rally that took place in Charlottesville on Aug. 12, 2017.

Before the 12th annual Jazz and Blues Festival taking place at Lake Anne Plaza on Sept. 1, a Before I Die public art installation has been erected, asking visitors to write down things they hope to accomplish in an effort to help people cope with death and find meaning. The installation will stay in place through Sept. 10.

Manassas City police are searching for the individual(s) who shot and killed 24-year-old Manassas resident Reynaldo Eliazar Arajo, whose body was discovered inside a home in the 10000 block of Massie Street at 2 a.m. on Thursday.
