Middleburg Airbnb rental ends in owner’s arrest; Metro union to call for general manager’s resignation during Thursday rally

This past weekend, the owner of an Airbnb rental property in Middleburg held renters at gunpoint, until police arrived, after finding blood and broken windows, furniture and doors. The renters threw a party at the property, and when uninvited guests showed up, a fight ensued. The 77-year-old property owner, John A. “Jack” Andrews, was charged with brandishing a firearm and abduction, and the police and Airbnb are conducting an investigation.

Thursday, Metro’s Amalgamated Transit Union will hold a rally calling for General Manager Paul Wiedefeld’s resignation in light of the seemingly special treatment white nationalists attending the Unite the Right rally received.

The man who is suspected of exposing himself to women in Arlington and Washington, D.C., the last few months was previously convicted of indecent exposure during a 2011 incident in Alexandria. The man was arrested in early August after approaching a girl near Dupont Circle.
