Thursday afternoon, Jarrod Ramos entered the Capital Gazette newsroom in Annapolis and began shooting, killing five employees and injuring two others. In 2015, Ramos filed a defamation suit against the paper in 2015, but lost. Exhibiting resilience, the Capital Gazette published a newspaper on Friday, it’s editorial page blank with the exception of 56 words that included, “This page is intentionally left blank to commemorate victims of Thursday’s shootings at our office.” A GoFundMe for the victims has raised over $85,000.

Thursday, Lime Bike and the Crystal City BID partnered up to bring dockless scooters to people walking along Crystal City Drive. More scooters could pop up in the area (Bird, another dockless company, introduced its scooters to the area last Sunday) pending a policy being drafted by the county’s commuter services bureau.
