Potomac Nationals plan to build $35 million ballpark in Fredericksburg; Electric shock at MGM National Harbor injures two

Tuesday night, Potomac Nationals’ owner Art Silber announced that he signed a letter of intent to bring a $35 million ballpark to Fredericksburg. The ballpark is expected to open in April 2020.

A man and a 6-year-old girl were taken to the hospital Tuesday night following an electric shock that they suffered at MGM National Harbor. The man sustained non-life threatening injuries but the girl is said to be in critical condition.

Following a domestic dispute on Tuesday night, a 31-year-old man being taken into custody in Fairfax County suffered a medical emergency and was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Since May, Fairfax’s Bethlehem Lutheran Church has been broken into and vandalized seven times, acts of vandalism featuring racial and religious slurs. Tuesday morning, Pastor Elijah Mwitanti found that his sanctuary’s pew cushions had been cut open and stained glass and prayer items broken.

A 114-foot tree in Northwest Arlington is at risk of being cut down by a developer who intends to knock down a home in the 3200 block of N. Ohio Street and build two more homes in its place. There is an online petition with more than 850 signatures to save the tree.

Tuesday, David Eisenhauer, the former Virginia Tech student accused of killing 13-year-old Nicole Lovell, was sentenced to 50 years in prison. Natalie Keepers, who is said to be Eisenhauer’s accomplice, will go on trial in September.
