Martin Lawrence’s Purcellville mansion for sale
The well-known comedian, actor and producer Martin Lawrence is giving up his piece of Virginia for a mere $8.5 million dollars. The 23,000-square-foot home built in 1980 and renovated in 2004 is situated on 115-plus acres that includes two lakes. The home itself holds five bedrooms and 10 bathrooms in the main house, along with a full gym, private movie room, indoor pool, basketball court and two-lane bowling alley. The home is listed with Peter Pejacsevich of Middleburg Real Estate | Atoka Properties.

Former J.R.’s Stockyards Inn goes residential
The 40-year-old restaurant in Tysons Corner is up for redevelopment, as the owners have applied for a redevelopment of 264 multifamily units on the 1.18-acre site. Plans call for a 23-story building with an 11-story wing with recreational plaza, rooftop pool and 990-square-foot amenity room, plus 5,300 square feet of ground-floor retail and three levels of underground parking that will sit along International Drive, Leesburg Pike and Chain Bridge Road. Also proposed is a 5,283-square-foot public space fronting Watson Street, according to the Washington Business Journal.

Red Cross Building changes to neighborhood
The former Red Cross headquarters in Arlington is changing over to a neighborhood after the county approved the redevelopment. Wesley Housing Development Corporation will build 97 affordable housing units in one building along with two rows of townhomes and work within historic preservation easements for the current Windsor Apartments already on site. The project will also renovate the existing playground on site and widen sidewalks. The project will be phased and will achieve Earthcraft Gold or LEED v4 Homes status once complete.
