Right Hand Man? Alexander Hamilton’s Relationship With George Washington: The Musical vs. the Reality
May 31, 7-8:30 p.m.
The relationship between Alexander Hamilton and George Washington is emphasized throughout the Broadway show—in songs like “Right Hand Man” and “Washington On Your Side”—but Professor Peter Henriques will make the case that the pair’s relationship was actually the most important in the founding of America. Henriques will take a close look at the nature of their relationship and just how accurate the portrayal is in the musical. // Gadsby’s Tavern Museum: 134 N. Royal St., Alexandria

In addition to his signature on the U.S. Constitution, documents include Hamilton’s “Statement of My Property and Debts, with Remarks” and George Washington’s nomination of Hamilton to the first Secretary of the Treasury. // National Archives Building: 701 Pennsylvania Ave. NW, Washington, D.C.

Hamilton-Themed Cocktails
June 12-Sept. 16

Hamilton’s D.C.
June 15-Sept. 16
Hamilton may never have lived in our nation’s capital, but the city still has its own historical tidbits relating back to the founding father on the ten dollar bill. Washington Walks will provide the ultimate walking tour for fans of the musical that will feature information on Eliza’s Hamilton’s time in D.C. after she moved here as a widow, the lives of Hamilton’s rivals Jefferson and Madison, and appropriately, a stop at The Hamilton restaurant and bar to finish off the tour. // Washington Walks: washingtonwalks.com
