Loudoun hardware store employee accused of using anti-gay slur; 9-year-old dies in accident at Franconia Elementary

An employee at Nichols Hardware in Purcellville has been accused of using an anti-gay slur after refusing to help a Boy Scouts member asking for donations for a service project. The employee reportedly said to another customer “You know they let homos in, right?” and then “We do not support homos around here, I can tell you that.”

During an after school program at Franconia Elementary on Friday, a 9-year-old boy suffered dramatic head injuries and died after being caught between a motorized divider and a wall. Grief counselors will be at the school Monday.
