A 17-year-old teen from Lorton, whose name has not yet been released, entered into one family’s Reston home early Friday morning and shot and killed Scott Fricker and his wife Buckley Kuhn-Fricker, before shooting himself. Four other families members, who were not harmed, were home at the time of the shooting. The suspect has been hospitalized and is in life-threatening condition.

Built in 1948, the Mt. Vernon Antique Center in Alexandria is one of the oldest and largest such centers in the area. Monday night, a fire broke out on the building’s second floor. Fire officials are still attempting to determine a cause and are assessing the extent of the damage.

On Christmas Eve, a Sterling man shot two Loudoun County police officers in the 46000 block of Hollow Mountain Place. The officers, who are getting treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries, were called to the home as the suspect, Douglas V. Johnson Jr., had had a physical altercation with a relative.
