This week, Northern Virginia Magazine editors are looking forward to viewing classics at Angelika Film Center, Koreatown Restaurant Week events and the Thursday premiere of Scandal‘s final season. Also on the agenda is the grand opening of a Pure Barre studio in Falls Church and a trip to Hershey, Pennsylvania, for a soccer tournament.

K-Food Restaurant Week
Oct. 2-6
It’s the first Koreatown Restaurant Week in the region with restaurants offering various discounts on bibimbap, bulgogi, barbecue and fried chicken. I’m thinking of hitting the three-course, $30-for-two deal at Lighthouse Tofu. –SG // Multiple NoVA locations
Film time
Once the air starts to turn crisp, I flee indoors; anything under 70 degrees and I’m bundled up. Luckily Angelika Film Center has a roster of classic films to keep me indoors, give me a fix of adventure and take my mind off of current events. Hitchcocktober debuts this month with films such as North By Northwest, Notorious, Vertigo, Rebecca and Psycho. A woman walks into a barre
OK, I know we wrote about barre last week, but I’m going to double down and say I’m most excited about barre this week, too. At long last, the Pure Barre studio on Westmoreland Street in Falls Church is opening, and I will relish each morning that I can pull myself from bed in the pre-dawn darkness to slip on my grippy socks and repeatedly lift tiny weights to the latest trop house remixes. –EB
Soccer, family and hopefully chocolate
While I’m not looking forward to the two-hour drive, I am looking forward to seeing my little sis play soccer in a tournament near Hershey Park. I don’t know if tasting treats is on the agenda (fingers crossed it is!), but family time is a pretty sweet way to spend the weekend. –RK
Scandal
Oct. 5, 9 p.m.
I’ve tried to quit Scandal. I really have. But something about Olivia Pope’s wardrobe, the way Shonda Rhimes gives her characters at least one extremely satisfying yet too long monologue per episode and the somehow-still-enduring love triangle keeps me coming back. So I’ll be tuning in this Thursday as the final season kicks off, most likely rolling my eyes at the drama while remaining unable to look away from whatever insane story line they’ve dreamed up. –WD
