Heat waves and the dog days of summer call for a much-needed dip in the pool. If swimming laps or waiting in line for water slides isn’t in your future, consider spending a relaxing day floating along a lazy river. Here are six NoVA water parks and aquatic centers with lazy rivers to check out this summer.
AV Symington Aquatic Center
Grab a tube and relax as you float along the 600-foot lazy river. When you need to take a dip, head over to the outdoor park’s twisting slide, dumping buckets, or lap lanes. Residents of the Town of Leesburg can enter the pool starting at 11 a.m. 60 Ida Lee Dr. NW, Leesburg, $5–$9 for children and seniors, $6–$10 for adults, $4–$7 after 5 p.m.
Cub Run Rec Center
You can enjoy a dip in the pool any time of the year at this facility. In addition to the lazy river, this indoor water park will keep swimmers of all ages entertained with a 20-foot-high slide, cannons and sprays, and an in-water playground. 4630 Stonecroft Blvd., Chantilly, $7.50–$12 for children ages 5–18 and seniors 65 and older, $11–$14 for adults
Long Bridge Aquatics & Fitness Center
Inside the 92,000-square-foot complex, you’ll find a quaint lazy river. This amenity is separated from the rest of the water features to ensure relaxation. If you need to take a break from lounging, there’s plenty of other water activities to enjoy. Splash Down Waterpark
The Manassas water park is the largest in Prince William County, and it features a lazy river that doesn’t disappoint. Twisting around the cabanas and lagoon, this lazy river allows you to take in the summer sun while you enjoy a relaxing day in the water. The Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole
Countless families will spend their summer at the 2025 Best of NoVA winner for best water park. While the park is equipped with numerous twisting slides, play features, and playgrounds, we can see why the lazy river is always packed. Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility
The 68,000-gallon leisure pool will keep you entertained throughout the hot summer days. The lazy river wraps around the indoor water slide.
