Arlington County cracks down on exotic pets; Crystal City VRE station considering second option

Arlington County residents will no longer be able to adopt certain exotic animals as pets following a recent decision by the Arlington County Board. Existing pets are exempt from the new rule, but primates, raccoons, skunks, wolves, squirrels, foxes, leopards, venomous snakes and spiders and more will no longer be permitted to call Arlington their home.

The Virginia Railway Express‘ proposal for a new Crystal City VRE station between Crystal Drive’s 18th and 20th streets has been denied by the Arlington County Board. The VRE is now considering “Option 2,” which members of the Arlington County Board seem to favor.
