Students at Meadowland Elementary, Moorefield Station Elementary and Round Hill Elementary will get at least 30 minutes of computer coding experience per day following the Loudoun County public school system’s partnership with Code to the Future. Cassini, the NASA spacecraft that has been orbiting Saturn since 2004, ended its long journey by going up in flames in Saturn’s atmosphere Friday morning. Cassini has collected a multitude of information about Saturn, arguably the most prominent being that the molecules around Saturn’s ocean moon Titan could be indicative of/precursors to biological activity.

A fifth-grader at Mary Walter Elementary in Morrisville, Noelle Lily, won a $4,000 college scholarship from Orchard Learning’s “Dare to Dream…Expect to Succeed” program. For her application, Noelle, who struggles with dyslexia, submitted a poster, diorama and essay explaining why she wants to be a teacher.
