Debora Jackson, yoga instructor at Mind the Mat, Mind Your Body Oasis and Pure Prana, admits there are challenges that come with an outdoor yoga practice but notes the benefits of forcing oneself to tune out external distractions. “When I practiced outside, I really felt communion with nature and a very heightened sense of awareness and focus,” she says. “It’s made me more able to be in the world as it is without trying to change it.”
