We all know that a Northern Virginia summer is beyond hot. It’s scorching and humid. It is nearly impossible to be outside, but sometimes seeing a movie or heading to an air-conditioned museum just isn’t what you’re looking for. Instead, you want to be active without wanting to collapse from the heat. There are plenty of options in NoVA to get moving without driving to a body of water or drying out in the summer sun.

This place is perfect for kids. Although it is generally a venue for birthday parties, throughout the week it offers themed open-jump events. Some of the past themes include glow bounce, pizza jump and character jump. Entertain your kids and wear them out without worrying about heat stroke.

Sport Bounce
At Sport Bounce of Loudoun, kids exercise and have fun all at once. The facility is over 10,000 square feet and is filled with giant inflatables. There are inflatable bounce areas, castles and slides for kids to explore at their time there.

Rebounderz is more than just a normal bounce facility. There is a 24,000-square-foot open area to jump in, but there are also in-air dodgeball and basketball slam tournaments. They offer unlimited open jump Monday through Thursday and unlimited dodgeball on Sunday.

Massanutten’s Indoor WaterPark
Take a day trip to an indoor water park that the whole family can enjoy. The water park extends to the outdoors and has everything you need to have a good time without spending the entire day in the heat.
