Tysons Corner is one of the busiest malls in the Northern Virginia area around the holidays, and you can expect it to be no different this year.

But, you can also expect a new holiday shopping experience thanks to the Tysons Corner Center’s Christmas Market and Winterfest 2014. Offering artisan crafts, ice skating and live entertainment, the market is a great chance for holiday shoppers seeking a change of pace to the hustle and bustle of the season.

In its second year, the Christmas Market and Winterfest is expanding from its original three-day run in 2013 to three weeks, starting today, Friday, Dec. 5, through Christmas Eve.

Inspired by a traditional German market, the Christmas Market will feature over 30 different artisan brands including, clothes, imported crafts and jewelry as well as German inspired food and drink.

You can come for the shopping, but stay for the holiday atmosphere, as the Christmas Market also has a brand new ice skating rink and live entertainment, including a figure skating performance from two-time Olympic medalist Nancy Kerrigan during the tree-lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 5.

The Christmas Market will be open from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. daily, save for Christmas Eve, when they will close at 4 p.m.
