On April 15, The Tailored Man will be hosting a charity event for veterans. In collaboration with Suiting Warriors, the custom tailoring business will be providing gently-worn suits for returning soldiers.

The event will be held at The Tailored Man’s shop in Tyson’s Corner. Although the charity will have more suits for men it will also proved some suits for women. Veterans should bring their Veteran ID card. All Veterans are welcome and a range of sizes will be available.

“We wanted to do an event because a ton of clients have garments that they don’t really utilize, and we decided we wanted to do something on the charitable side and that’s when we reached out to Suited Warriors,” says Jason Elias, creative director at The Tailored Man.

Suiting Warriors collaborates with “like minded organizations to connect with veterans and their families and promote a smooth transition into the civilian workforce” by providing them with professional attire.

The owners of the shop said they became immediately attracted to Suiting Warriors and its cause. But Elias said he saw another need from the organization, it was more than just donating suits.

“I knew that we could open up our store for donations, but I realized Suited Warriors had a bigger need than just having suits,” he said.

The need is a centralized hub for the veterans to receive their suits, as Suited Warriors often delivers the attire within its home state of Delaware. The Tailored Man will be providing its store as a location for veterans in the Northern Virginia area to come and pick out professional attire.

“Our store is the perfect place to do this because we also have a tailor. So the Veterans can come pick out a suit and get it altered all in one place,” says Elias. Whether donating or receiving suits, Elias said patrons just need to make an appointment at The Tailored Man before dropping by.

Not a veteran but want to help? The Tailored Man will be accepting donations for April 15. Both Suited Warriors and The Tailored Man ask that the suits be freshly dry-cleaned before dropping them off as a donation and that you call. The Tailored Man will also be providing a $50 gift card to anyone who donates a suit or sports jacket.
